I'm a photographer and visual storyteller based in Kent, born and bred the other side of the Thames Estuary, in Essex. I'm married to a South African and we have three daughters and dog Freddy together. I have always loved photography but it wasn't until we started a family did it spark a deeper realisation that photographs aren't just images, they're vessels of metaphor, mirror and mystery of our lives.

I spent 15 years working in the City as a broker in the fast paced world of Lloyds of London. After having my girls I began to feel the creative pull I'd long felt. I taught myself the basics through documenting family life, gradually layered in technical training through evening classes and later, a BA (Hons) in Photography with The Open College of Arts (part of OU). Bit by bit I've carved out a new path.

I work across both commissioned and self initiated projects, offering bespoke family portraits to branding and property photography. Each genre taps into a different skill set, but at its heart is a means to visually honour and represent the subject.

Alongside this, my research based personal work gives me space to play, question and grow as an Artist. These projects often revolve around identity, legacy and the maternal gaze. How women see, are seen and see themselves across time and context.

My favourite things are beach days, braai's, early mornings, dusty photo albums, golden hour, ice cream, autobiographies and photobooks, meaningful conversation and the feeling when you press the shutter and just know you've captured something very special.

As a socially engaged practitioner, I view photography as more than image-making. It is a way to build connection, encourage dialogue, and represent people and communities with care and responsibility. My practice is grounded in respect, collaboration, and accountability.

I am committed to working ethically with all clients, participants, and communities through clear communication, informed consent, and sensitivity to individual boundaries, identities, and lived experiences. I aim to create environments where people feel safe, valued, and able to participate on their own terms.

I represent subjects honestly and thoughtfully, avoiding harmful stereotypes, exploitation, or misrepresentation. Editing is used to enhance quality while maintaining the integrity of the moment and the truth of the story being told.

Inclusion, fairness, and accessibility are central to my approach. I welcome people from all backgrounds and strive to ensure my work reflects diverse voices and perspectives.

I believe photography carries social responsibility. My goal is to create work that is visually strong, ethically grounded, and contributes positively to the communities and audiences it reaches.
